Day 3- Good News
My favorite morning show, The Bert Show on 100.5 FM in Atlanta, decided a few weeks ago to do a little good in the 'hood. The holidays are approaching and there are 375,000 US Troops deployed around the world who will be away from their families. The Bert Show has challenged the city of Atlanta to handwrite 375,000 heartfelt letters to each and everyone so that they'll have a taste of home on Thanksgiving Day.
Regardless of how you feel about the war the sheer presence of the military keeps a whole host of crazies at bay and allows us the freedom to go to work without fear of being blown up. They just do what they're told and for the most part we benefit from it and there is no reason why they shouldn't feel remembered during the holidays.
It took 17 days and four of my own handwritten letters to bring the total to well over the goal and its nice to know that noone will be left out of the prayer during Thanksgiving Dinner.
